AMSOIL introduces 5W-40 synthetic motorcycle oil for metric bikes

AMSOIL, a leader in synthetic lubricant technology, based in Superior, Wisconsin, U.S.A., has announced the launch of its new 5W-40 Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil. This addition complements the existing AMSOIL Metric Motorcycle Oil family, which includes 10W-30, 10W-40, and 15W-50 viscosities. The new oil is specially engineered to deliver maximum performance for engines and transmissions in four-stroke metric sport bikes, cruisers, touring motorcycles, and adventure bikes.

Metric motorcycles use metric measurements for engine displacement. Metric motorcycles are known for their performance, innovation, and quality, making them a popular choice among motorcycle enthusiasts around the world. Common metric motorcycle manufacturers include Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki (Japan), BMW (Germany), Ducati (Italy), Triumph (UK), and KTM (Austria).

The AMSOIL 5W-40 Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil is designed to meet the rigorous demands of high-RPM engines, wet-clutch lubrication, and extreme-pressure conditions in gears. Formulated for use in a variety of metric motorcycles, including the BMW R 1250 GS, R 1300 GS, Aprilia Tuono, RSV4, and models from Benelli, Can-Am, Husqvarna, and Moto Guzzi, this oil meets or exceeds API SM and JASO MA/MA2 specifications.

AMSOIL’s new 5W-40 oil is thermally stable and fortified with oxidation inhibitors to prevent sludge and carbon deposits, the company said. It contains no friction modifiers, ensuring smooth shifting and positive clutch engagement. The motorcycle oil is engineered to manage heat effectively, reducing slippage and glazing to extend clutch life. Its advanced detergency keeps critical engine components clean, promoting superior engine cleanliness and longevity. By effectively reducing friction and heat, the oil helps engines run cleaner and cooler.
