ASTM Committee D02 honors outstanding work of David Forester

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., October 29, 2015โ€”ASTM International Committee D02 on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants has presented its Lowrie B. Sargent Award to David Forester, Global Products Development at Fuel Quality Services Inc. in Flowery Branch, Ga., U.S.A.

Committee D02 recognized Forester for his outstanding service and leadership contributions, particularly as chairman of Subcommittee D02.14 on Stability and Cleanliness of Liquid Fuels. He is credited with helping grow D02.14 from a small group formed in 1998 to one of the largest subcommittees out of a list of 32. The work of that group has resulted in several new industry standards for fuel cleanliness, testing and fuel stability. Forester, who has been an ASTM member since 1985, received the D02 Award of Excellence in 2011.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, where he received a bachelorโ€™s degree in chemistry, Forester has over 35 years of experience in the petroleum, refining, fuels and lubricants industry. He has developed new products, reformulations and improvements to jet and diesel fuel additive product lines and holds over 40 U.S. patents. Prior to joining Fuel Quality Services in 2013, he was director of technical services at Power Service Products in Weatherford, Texas, U.S.A., and a senior scientist at the Lubrizol Corp. in Wickliffe, Ohio, U.S.A.

Forester is a member of SAE International in addition to ASTM.
