Azelis expands in Latin America with Localpack acquisition in Colombia

Azelis, a leading global provider of specialty chemicals and food ingredients based in Antwerp, Belgium, has announced its strategic acquisition of Localpack S.A., a prominent specialty chemical distributor in Colombia. This acquisition aligns with Azelis’ growth objectives in Latin America, expanding its regional footprint.

Localpack, established in 2004, is known in Colombia’s domestic market for its expertise in both life sciences and industrial chemicals segments. With more than 400 active customers, Localpack serves several industrial applications such as Paints & Coatings, Polymerization, Disinfection and Cleaning, Asphalt, Construction, Lubricants & Greases, Plastics & Rubber, and Agrochemicals, The company’s team of 27 employees operates an application laboratory near Medellin.

Azelis’ growth initiatives in Latin America

This acquisition is the latest in a series of strategic moves by Azelis in Latin America. Recent initiatives include establishing a regional innovation center in Mexico in 2022, acquiring ROCSA S.A. in Colombia in 2022, and Vogler Ingredients Ltda. in Brazil earlier this year. The addition of Localpack’s product portfolio and capabilities marks another milestone in Azelis’ regional expansion strategy.
