BASF appoints Lena Adam to lead Fuel and Lubricant Solutions

BASF announced the appointment of Lena Adam as the new senior vice president to lead BASF Fuel and Lubricant Solutions, which is part of BASF’s Performance Chemicals division, effective February 1, 2022. She succeeds Uta Holzenkamp, who was appointed as the new president of BASF’s Coatings division last month.

BASF’s global business unit Fuel and Lubricant Solutions is a leading supplier of components and formulations to the transportation and mineral oil industries worldwide.

“The Fuel and Lubricant Solutions business has been a true success story for years and I am eager to continue writing this story together with the team, our partners and our customers,” said Adam.

Born in Cologne, Germany, Adam joined the company’s International  Business Traineeship Program in 2001, after receiving her diploma in business administration from the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society in 2005 and a Master of Business Administration from the  University of North Carolina in 2006. 

For 15 years she held various positions within BASF’s Agricultural Solutions business, including Global Strategic Marketing, Sustainability & Product Stewardship, Business Management and Product Management. Prior to her appointment as senior vice president of BASF Fuel and Lubricant Solutions, she was vice president of Global Strategic Marketing Fungicides,  Agricultural Solutions, a position she held since 2019.
