Castrol appoints Rock Energy as distributor in Bangladesh
Castrol, a leading global lubricant brand, has appointed Rock Energy Limited as its exclusive distributor for the automotive aftermarket in Bangladesh, as part of a strategy to boost its market presence and accessibility across the country.
Castrol has operated in Bangladesh since 2001, gradually strengthening its foothold. The new partnership with Rock Energy marks a significant development in its expansion strategy.
A subsidiary of one of Bangladesh’s fastest-growing conglomerates, Rock Energy brings more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the nation’s energy market.
“With Rock Energy, we intend to expand our direct distribution footprint, deepen engagement with customers, and drive differentiated growth for the Castrol brand in Bangladesh,” said Kedar Lele, vice president for South Asia. He expressed confidence that the partnership would help scale operations in 2025, backed by enhanced customer service and locally tailored marketing efforts.
Tanzeem Chowdhury, managing director of Rock Energy, remarked, “We are proud to associate with Castrol, one of the most trusted lubricant brands in the world. This collaboration will allow us to bring premium-quality products to more consumers and strengthen our presence in the energy value chain.”
Under the agreement, Rock Energy will focus on retail aftermarket distribution and the expansion of Castrol-branded independent workshops nationwide. The partnership aims to create new growth opportunities and bring Castrol’s high-performance lubricants closer to more consumers throughout Bangladesh.
