Castrol India appoints new Managing Director Kedar Lele
Castrol India Limited has announced significant changes to its Board of Directors following the latest board meeting held on 11 June 2024.
Sandeep Sangwan, who has served as the managing director since January 2020, will step down from his position at the close of business on 31 October 2024 to pursue another role within bp. Under his leadership, Castrol India navigated significant market changes and sustained its growth trajectory.
Kedar Lele has been appointed as the new Managing Director, effective 1 November 2024, for a term of five years, subject to shareholder approval. Lele will join Castrol India on 1 October 2024 as vice president, Castrol India and South Asia, to ensure a smooth transition. He brings more than 25 years of experience from Hindustan Unilever Limited, where he held several key roles, including chairman and managing director of Unilever Bangladesh.
New independent director appointment
Satyavati Berera has been appointed as an independent director effective 1 October 2024, for a five-year term, subject to shareholder approval. Berera, the former chief operating officer of PwC India, brings a wealth of experience in finance, operations, and regulatory compliance, having held numerous leadership roles over her 40-year career.
Cessation of nominee director
Nicola Buck will cease to be the nominee director of Castrol India with effect from the close of business on 11 June 2024, following her transition to a new role within bp. Her contributions to the board have been highly valued during her tenure.
These changes mark a significant phase in Castrol Indiaโs leadership, aimed at steering the company towards continued growth and excellence in the industry.
