Cepsa taps SGS to monitor fuel quality in Spain and Portugal

Cepsa has chosen SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company based in Geneva, Switzerland, to provide fuel quality monitoring at Cepsa petrol stations in Spain and Portugal.

As a global, integrated company operating across the entire oil and gas value chain, Cepsa is one of the leading energy companies in Spain. To ensure the quality of fuel across its network of service stations in Spain and Portugal, Cepsa has chosen SGS to conduct fuel quality monitoring.

SGS will take samples and assess the quality parameters of the fuel. The SGS Fuel Quality Monitoring Program represents a guarantee of the fuel quality’s meticulous control and also serves as a valuable communication tool for drivers and end-users of Cepsa’s fuels.

“Cepsa believes in the importance of having independent fuel quality monitoring from a reliable independent inspection company in an intensely competitive fuel market environment,” said Irene González Bartolomesanz, Quality and Product Regulation, Cepsa.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.
