Chevron Products Company, a division of Chevron U.S.A Inc., announced today that it has selected petroleum distribution company quantiQ, based in Santos, Brazil to distribute Chevron’s premium base oils in Brazil.
quantiQ, a leader in the distribution of chemical products in Brazil, belongs to GTM Holdings SA. They service more than 5,000 clients, in more than 20 different markets, with a broad portfolio of products. quantiQ was chosen as Chevron’s distributor because of their extensive experience in the Brazilian lubricants market. They offer base oil customers a full range of services including, local storage, logistics and, importantly, support from an experienced technical staff.
Brazil’s lubricants market, the largest in Latin America, is moving to premium products to support the performance requirements of its modernizing fleet. As the market moves from mono-grade to multi-grade and to semi-synthetic motor oils, reformulating can be complicated and costly. Chevron’s extensive qualifications portfolio coupled with quantiQ’s in-region technical support can help formulators seamlessly integrate Group II base oils into their supply chain.
“quantiQ is the ideal distributor for Chevron Group II base oils in Brazil,” said Tracey Gardiner, vice president, Chevron Base Oils. “They know the markets’ needs, and, with our Group II base oils in tank, they offer customers a full line of base oils backed by a technical support team that can help optimize formulations across the customers’ entire product lines.”
Chevron Base Oils has been in the region for more than five years. “The relationship with Chevron completes a major step for our lubricant unit,” said Marcelo Giacomelli, quantiQ’s Lubricants Market Business Unit manager. “It complements our current portfolio of base oils. We are working with customers to help them understand the benefits of adding Group II to their supply chain.”
Chevron Products Company, a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies.
With a presence in several market segments, quantiQ has a portfolio of more than 1,000 products in industrial, specialty and customer solutions, offering solutions to more than 5,000 clients. It operates throughout Brazil with a broad commercial and logistics structure, which has distribution centers and offices in the south, southeast and northeast of Brazil. In addition to the distribution of chemical products, quantiQ offers the market industrialization and packaging services, bulk and packaged chemical storage, management of import processes, a quality control laboratory and a lubricant production unit.
