Isuzu and GM to jointly develop pick-up truck in Thailand

General Motors (GM) and Isuzu have agreed to join forces to develop a next-generation pick-up truck. The target production date was set for 2014 at one of Isuzuโ€™s plants in Thailand. The Daily Yomiuri reported that the two companies will jointly develop a diesel-electric hybrid vehicle which will have strong environmental performance through the use of their respective technologies: Isuzu’s fuel efficiency and GM’s hybrid technology. The two companies will target high-growth emerging markets, and are looking at possible sales in the United States as well. (September 10, 2012)
