Egypt’s Al Manar Group, Total sign lubricants distribution agreement

Al Manar Trading & Distribution Company (AMTD) has signed an agreement with Total Egypt to exclusively distribute Elf-branded lubricants in Egypt.

The company, which is a subsidiary of Al Manar Group, will distribute a range of lubricant products including engine oils, hydraulic oils, and other automotive fluids.

Ahmed Nawara, managing director and CEO of Al Manar Group, said that the Elf-branded lubricant products “will be fully manufactured inside Total plants in Borg El Arab, Alexandria.”

Total Egypt is a subsidiary of French energy giant Total, established in 1998. The company is active in the entire petroleum product distribution value chain, including general sales, lubricants, marine, and aviation, as well as retail. The company currently employs 230 people.

The company’s retail network is comprised of 239 stations. To ensure security of supply, Total Egypt owns four depots: the first two are located in Cairo and directly linked to the Mostorod refinery; the third one is in Suez, while the fourth one is near Alexandria, in Borg El Arab, where base oils are stored for the company’s brand new lube blending plant.

“Egypt’s investment climate has gained more attraction in various fields including engine oils, as evidenced in the keenness of major global corporations and entities to have a presence and invest in Egypt,” Nawara said.
