ALIA Virtual Panel Discussion: Legislation for Sustainability – What is the Current Landscape?

Start Date:June 22, 2022 @ 2:30 am

Timezoone:SMT

Moderator: Sharmini Lohadhasan, E&C Manager (Strategy and Sustainability), bp Singapore

There is no alternative to sustainable development. For some, this is seen as a critical driver for innovation. For others it is considered demanding both financially and on resources, depriving their competitiveness. There is a constant tension in the proposed approach between companies, consumer activists and governments. Many argue that voluntary action taken by companies will not be enough. So the question becomes, how much of sustainability is likely to be driven by the legislative landscape and how? For AsPac, will we follow the path of more mature regions such as the US or Europe; or will we pave our own way?

Join us for this virtual panel discussion where we will discuss and explore an ever-evolving landscape. We will begin by examining the legislations of mature landscapes in the US and/or Europe and sharing the practices of companies operating in AsPac. We will also share a supplier’s perspective on sustainability as a vendor’s selection criterion.
