Lightweight Interiors for Transport to Showcase Cost-Effective Solutions and Innovations within Transport Interiors

Chief Engineers and Senior Experts from leading manufacturers and operators in Aero, Auto and Rail will be discussing the latest cost-effective solutions and innovations being used in transport interiors at Lightweight Interiors for Transport, 28-29 June, Etc. Venues, Birmingham.

The transport sector is being pressured to reduce emissions and increase efficiency. Aerospace, Automotive and Railway are utilising innovative materials, techniques and designs to drive down mass while meeting customer expectations and safety standards.

Senior experts from Air Tanker, Airbus, and Turkish Airlines, as well as Jaguar Land Rover, London Underground, Nissan, Tata Motors, ScotRail and many more will present a unique set of case studies and interactive discussions to facilitate debate and innovation.

Attendees will hear from John White, Leasing Aircraft Cabin Project Manager, Air Tanker who will open proceedings with the session Finding A Compromise: Lightweight Seating – Luxury and Comfort Vs Weight. John will look specifically at compromises in seat design and the balance between luxury, comfort, cost and weight in seat design.

Plus, Ingo Roth, Technology Product Leader Cabin and Cargo Interior and Material, Airbus will lead one of four Roundtable Discussions. These thought-provoking and interactive discussions, led by the presenters, will have limited space and delve into key topics including ‘High Density Seating: Maximising Seat Capacity With Impacting Comfort’, ‘Seating Safety Without Restraints In Transport’, ‘Re-Thinking The Seating Structure’ and ‘Integrating Passenger And Luggage Requirements Into Seating’.

Lightweight Interiors for Transport will feature a half-day pre-seminar workshop; Mass Reduction in Seating: Ensuring comfort and stability in lightweight seating on 28 June followed by a full day seminar on 29 June.
