Moderated by: Ms. Sharmini Lohadhasan, Ethics and Compliance Manager, BP Singapore

Asia is among the largest finished lubricant consuming market globally – with a growing share of international brands, thus incentivising the growth of the counterfeit market. During the pandemic, home and personal care products (surface cleaners, sanitisers etc.) gained traction in the counterfeiting business. The premium and fast-moving products (such as lubricants) were also impacted, with e-commerce as the new channel adopted by counterfeiters to effectively reach a wider audience.

Please join us in this exciting panel discussion which will provide an overview on the degree of counterfeiting in our region, the different modes of tactics and how the local authorities play their role. This will be moderated by Ms. Sharmini Lohadhasan with panelists coming not only from the Lubricants Industry but also from one of the leading e-commerce players, Alibaba; as well as from a Singapore-based family business that supplies luxury brands of watches and other accessories.

Panelists:

Mr. Mick Ryan, Director, Brand Cooperation at Alibaba Platform Governance, Alibaba Group

Mr. Ken Leong, Leong Poh Kee Pte Ltd., General Manager of Leong Poh Kee Pte. Ltd., Executive Committee, Singapore Clock & Watch Trade Association
