Evonik names new customer relations director for Europe, Middle East and Africa

Evonik’s Oil Additives business has announced that Thilo Krapfl will take over the role of customer relations Director – Europe, Middle East and Africa.

From his base in Darmstadt, Germany, Krapfl will lead the direct sales activities in the region, as well as technical service and OEM relations. He will also be responsible for identifying the market’s needs and requirements and implementing measures to drive growth in the region.

Krapfl holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University Erlangen, Germany. He began his career with Evonik in 2004 when he joined the Degussa Engineering Department in Hanau, working on several large scale projects. Between 2006 and 2008, Thilo was an integral member of the team responsible for construction and start-up of the Oil Additives’ Singapore plant, now its largest plant worldwide. He then became a technical service manager in Darmstadt, supporting several key accounts.

In 2011, Krapfl returned to Singapore as plant manager of the Singapore plant, where he provided oversight to the successful expansion of the plant, resulting in a doubling of capacity. Last year, he returned to Darmstadt to assume the role of global sales process manager.

As a leading provider of oil additives, Evonik develops technologies to improve fuel and energy efficiency, as well as productivity, with its DRIVON™ and NUFLUX™ technologies in engine oils, driveline fluids and gear oils.
