Evonik’s Oil Additives business announced the appointment of Jen-Lung Wang as China country manager. In this role, he will lead the China team as Evonik’s Oil Additives business continues to expand in Asia.

Concurrently, Jen-Lung will also assume responsibilities for Asia-Pacific business development, as the business steps-up development of new opportunities beyond its core activities.

Jen-Lung began his career with Evonik’s Oil Additives business line in 2000 as senior research scientist at the Horsham Technology Center in Horsham, Penn., U.S.A. In this role, he was a valued contributor to long-term innovation activities and led customer-focused driveline and crankcase product development efforts.

From 2006 to 2009, he served as technical service manager, supporting customers in the North American region and in Japan and Korea as well.

His skill in developing relationships with these accounts led to several successful commercialisations of products for driveline applications. In 2009, Jen-Lung was named global product manager, Driveline Segment, directing and providing oversight to key segment projects, managing a diverse product portfolio, and implementing an aggressive segment marketing plan.

In January, 2012, he took on the position of global business director, Wax Modifiers. In this capacity, he developed and executed the segment’s strategic initiatives, strengthened relationships with key business partners, and launched new business development projects to accelerate growth.

Prior to Evonik, Jen-Lung worked at Calgon Corp. in Pittsburgh, Penn., U.S.A. as a research chemist, and at Bayer AG in Leverkusen, Germany as research laboratory manager. Jen-Lung received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from The Ohio State University and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He earned his B.Sc. degree from the National Taiwan University.
