ALIA announces appointment of Eugene Tan as chief executive

The Asian Lubricants Industry Association (ALIA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Eugene Tan as the new chief executive of the Singapore-based organisation. A dynamic and respected senior leader, he succeeds Bernard Wong, who was ALIA executive director until late last year. Tan assumed his new responsibilities on March 1, 2022.

Tan is an influential and decisive leader who has achieved strong successes and developed robust relationships with government, corporate and community sectors. We are delighted to have attracted someone as talented as Tan as chief executive to continue to build upon the outstanding work that has been achieved so far by the Asian Lubricants Industry Association since its launch in March 2018.

Tan has over 30 years of industry experience before retiring as BPโ€™s director of global supply chain for Asia & Pacific, where he led the development of bulk and packed supply chain strategy and execution for the Asia and Pacific region, including the Middle East. He also served as Council member and vice chairman for ALIA, representing BP.

Before joining BP, Tan worked at Shell, where he developed broad end-Shelto-end experience covering supply chain, product quality & advocacy, e-commerce, retail and commercial business, refinery operations, technology and supply trading. Tan is currently senior advisor at GXS Partners, a consulting company focused on solutions that work in Asia.

He has a Master of Law Degree from the University of Cambridge in the UK.
