AMSOIL introduces 10W-30 diesel motor oil for heavy-duty use

AMSOIL Inc., a synthetic lubricants manufacturer based in Superior, Wisconsin, U.S.A., has added a new product to its lineup: the SAE 10W-30 viscosity grade heavy-duty diesel motor oil. This synthetic-blend oil is formulated to cater to the needs of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.

The introduction of the 10W-30 Commercial-Grade Diesel Oil is a response to the evolving requirements of modern machinery. With wear protection as a primary concern for many operators, this engine oil aims to address that by offering enhanced wear resistance. This could potentially lead to reduced maintenance intervals and longer equipment life.

A notable characteristic of this oil is its low volatility rate. Reduced volatility can lead to decreased oil consumption, which in turn might result in fewer combustion-chamber deposits. This is an essential factor for engines, as excessive deposits can affect performance and longevity.

Cold start protection is another feature of this oil. In colder climates, ensuring consistent oil flow is crucial for engine protection, especially during startups. 

Brett Granmo, AMSOIL’s market manager for Heavy-Duty, provided insights into the product’s development. “There’s a noticeable market trend towards 10W-30 diesel motor oils. With the Commercial-Grade series, we aim to offer a product that aligns with this trend while addressing the specific needs of our customers,” said Granmo.

Furthermore, the oil meets the API CK-4 diesel engine oil specification, which is the latest standard set by the American Petroleum Institute for diesel engine oils.
