Chevron Oronite to present at Base Oils and Lubes Middle East 2018

SAN RAMON, Calif., April 16, 2018 – Chevron Oronite announced that it will be presenting at the 7th Base Oil and Lubes Middle East Conference, taking place in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on April 25-26, 2018. Alexandre Gendron, product line specialist, Marine, Europe-Africa-Middle East Region, Chevron Oronite SAS, will be giving a presentation on April 25, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. titled: Marine Lubricants Market Trends: Anticipating Change.

Alexandre Gendron will explain the impact of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) sulphur regulations on marine lubricants. “In 2020, the maximum sulphur level in marine fuels for all ships trading outside Sulphur Emission Control Areas (ECAs) will go down from 3.5 percent to 0.5 percent,” said Gendron. “I will talk about the need to identify, develop, and commercialize improved lubricants to address the changing performance requirements demanded by changes in marine engine designs and the expanded slate of alternate marine fuels, such as distillate, LNG, and Low-Sulphur Fuel Oils.”

The Base Oil and Lubes Middle East Conference is a part of Middle East Petroleum and Gas Week, which brings together five events comprising briefings on crude oil, LNG, and workshops on global finished lubricants.
