HCS Group appoints Peter Friesenhahn as new CEO

HCS Group, a leading international supplier of high-value hydrocarbon specialties and a company of International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG), has announced the appointment of Peter Friesenhahn as its new chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2024.

Friesenhahn joins HCS Group from Evonik, where he held various executive positions over 12 years, most recently serving as general manager of the Business Line Silanes. His extensive experience in the chemical industry also includes a 20-year tenure at Bayer, where he held various management roles in Germany and internationally.

Friesenhahn’s vision for HCS Group

Upon his appointment, Friesenhahn expressed his enthusiasm for leading HCS Group. “It is an honor to join HCS Group as CEO,” he said. “HCS Group has established itself as a pioneer in sustainable hydrocarbons. Friesenhahn succeeds Peter Stubbe, who served as interim CEO since September 2023 while continuing his role as CFO. Stubbe, who has been with HCS Group for more than 11 years, will leave the company on January 31, 2024. His tenure as CFO has been marked by significant contributions to the Group’s development.
