Offen Petroleum acquires W. Douglass Distributing’s wholesale division

NRC Realty & Capital Advisors, LLC has successfully facilitated the sale of W. Douglass Distributing, Ltd’s wholesale businesses to Offen Petroleum LLC. This strategic move sees Offen Petroleum expanding its operational footprint in the fuel distribution sector, particularly strengthening its presence in Texas and Oklahoma.

W. Douglass Distributing, headquartered in Sherman, Texas, U.S.A., has been a national frontrunner in the distribution of propane, lubricants, and wholesale and commercial fuels. Annually, the company has been distributing more than 200 million gallons of fuel, serving a substantial customer base that includes more than 4,600 residential propane customers, more than 150 major wholesale clients, and upwards of 2,800 commercial fuel, lubricant, and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) customers.

The acquisition does not include the 23 convenience stores operating under the Lone Star Food Stores brand, which will remain with a Douglass affiliate. Offen Petroleum, on the other hand, is set to retain nearly all employees from Douglass’ wholesale operations, ensuring continuity and leveraging the established expertise within the team.

From its humble beginnings with just three employees, the company has grown into a significant player in the convenience store and wholesale fuel industries, with Bill Douglass earning numerous accolades for his contributions.

Offen Petroleum, a portfolio company of Court Square Capital Partners, is a leading distributor of fuels, propane, DEF, and lubricants. With this acquisition, Offen will distribute more than 2.6 billion gallons of motor fuel annually, serving a vast customer base across the United States.
