Zschimmer & Schwarz announces new USDA BioPreferred products

Zschimmer &  Schwarz Inc., a global manufacturer of synthetic ester base stocks and additives for lubricants, announced the addition of 22 new USDA BioPreferred product certifications. This brings the total number to 29.

The USDA BioPreferred Program was established to increase the use of biologically  derived products and renewable agricultural resources, reduce the consumption of petroleum and contribute to reducing adverse environmental and health impacts.

โ€œThis diverse  range of products enables the formulation of renewable lubricants for industrial,  automotive and marine applications. We are pleased to provide these options to our  customers whose product lines include high-performance sustainable technology.  We are particularly excited to announce this on Earth Day 2021,โ€ said Doug Placek, global director of the lubricants division.

Companies seeking to reduce their CO2 footprint, improve their ESG ratings and  achieve preferred purchasing status with government agencies can benefit from the  use of BioPreferred-certified materials.

The extensive selection of bioderived esters includes low-viscosity monoesters,  medium-viscosity polyol esters and high-viscosity complex esters. A number of products are also registered as LuSC and/or HX-1 food-grade components.
