There are many outstanding individuals working tirelessly to advance the collective interests of the fuel and lubricants industry throughout Asia. The inaugural F&L Awards, an exciting new addition to the F+L Week program from 2017, provide an opportunity to celebrate their successes.

The “Asia-Pacific F&L Person of the Year” acknowledges an individual’s outstanding contribution to the Fuels & Lubricants industry in the region. We are delighted to announce that Trevor Russell, Chief Executive Officer of Infineum, was selected as the first “Asia-Pacific F&L Person of the Year,” during the F+L Week Appreciation Dinner, on March 9, 2017.

Trevor was chosen, from several very strong nominations, by F+L Week’s independent Advisory Board to acknowledge his leadership in expanding manufacturing and supply capability for additives in the Asia-Pacific region.

Trevor is the mastermind behind Infineum’s growth strategy in the Asian region. He has recently been involved in the commissioning of Infineum’s new production facilities in Singapore and new Business and Technology Centre and blending facilities in China. Infineum has also built a plant from scratch on a green-field site in Zhangjiagang, in Jiangsu Province. He is also the driving force behind the recent announcement to open an office in India.

OLOA® 55516 by Chevron Oronite was selected as the winner of the 2017 “F&L Product Development of the Year.” This award distinguishes product innovation in the Fuels & Lubricants industry. Accepting the award for Chevron Oronite was Barbara Smith, Vice President, Products and Technology.

OLOA® 55516 was selected due to its noteworthy dexos 1TM:2015 approval by General Motors (GM). Chevron Oronite is the first company to develop additive chemistry and formulative technology meeting the new requirements for next generation GM engines. Achieving this specification is an important development that impacts GM vehicles globally as well as in the Asia-Pacific region.

OLOA® 55516 satisfies a wide range of customer product needs for not only GM’s dexos 1TM:2015 but also meets ILSAC GF-5 and API SN specifications with just one product. This can help reduce overall costs while maximizing supply chain flexibility. OLOA® 55516 can be linked to a down treated ILSAC GF-5 package (OLOA® 55501) via a booster.
