Gazpromneft-Lubricants reports 2% higher total sales volume in first half

Gazpromneft-Lubricants, a subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom Neft, reported that sales of its G-Energy oils are up by 26% to 24 thousand tonnes in the first half of 2017, while sales of its various premium lubricants rose 16% to 140 thousand tonnes. However, total sales volume increased only 2% in the first half of 2017 to 268 thousand tonnes.

Within the Russian Federation, Gazpromneft-Lubricants sold 93 thousand tonnes of premium products in the first half of 2017, 19% higher compared to the same period a year ago. Export volumes also rose 9% to 47 thousand tonnes. In the first half of 2017, the company has expanded sales to new markets, including Thailand, Libya, Peru and Senegal. Today G-Energy and Gazpromneft lubricants are sold in 68 countries.

“Our business plan is very ambitious, but despite this, in the first half of 2017 we were able to exceed the stated figures. It is a good base for work in the second half,” said Alexander Trukhan, general director, Gazpromneft-Lubricants Ltd.

Gazpromneft-Lubricants also said it had sold 7.4 thousand tonnes of marine lubricants in the first half of 2017, up 7.5% over the same period a year ago.

“We are not going to slow down the pace as we understand the growing need of the global market in high-tech lubricants. However, it is not enough to be a manufacturer of quality products – today’s leader may be only the one who is able to offer an efficient business solution based on advanced service. And that is the way we keep going in the development, constantly improving our competencies, forming the most modern offers for the market.”

Established in November 2007, Gazpromneft-Lubricants manufactures at six production sites in Russia, Italy and Serbia. The company’s total production volume is more than 500,000 tonnes of high-quality oils, greases and technical fluids per year. The Omsk Lubricant Plant (OZSM) is Russia’s most advanced lube blending plant, with total annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes. Its product range includes 500 items of oils and greases for all market sectors. The company has a 15% share of Russia’s lubricants market. It also operates in the CIS and the Baltic, Europe, Central and Southeast Asia, Africa, South America and beyond.
