Chevrolet calls for more Thai fuel stations to offer E85 gasohol

Chevrolet, which recently introduced the Captiva FlexFuel sport utility vehicle which can run on E85 gasohol, is looking for more gas stations within Thailand to offer the fuel. The company has requested that the Thai government make certain that more gas stations offer E85.  Chevrolet has set as a goal to sell 600 units of the new Captiva in Thailand each month.  Maartin Apfel, president of General Motors (GM) Southeast Asia Operations, GM Thailand and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, said, “We need more stations where people can purchase E85 as well as more ethanol production. If ethanol can be provided at a low price, then self-sustainability can be achieved much more easily with more E85 stations in the country.”  At  present, PTT, which is the principal retailer of E85 fuel in Thailand only sells it in 23 outlets.  (June 24, 2011)
