Greg Hewgill joins Lucas Oil as technical director

Corona, Calif.-based Lucas Oil Products, Inc. announced the appointment of Greg Hewgill as technical director.

“Greg has a wealth of experience in the science of oil products technology,” said Tom Fredrickson, chief operating officer of Lucas Oil. “We look forward to him playing a key part in the development of Lucas Oil products as we continue to expand into new markets around the globe.”

Hewgill began his career in the oil industry soon after graduating from California State University Fullerton, where he studied science. He worked at Union Oil of Californiaโ€™s (Unocal) Research Center in Brea, Calif. as part of a team developing, testing and implementing new technologies in the area of well simulation. He worked for Unocal for 15 years.

In 1997, Hewgill worked for Wynn Oil as an industrial chemist working primarily in metalworking fluids before transferring to automotive aftermarket research as senior chemist and lab manager. During his time at Wynn’s, Hewgill helped develop new products in every area of automotive fluids including engine oils, automatic transmission fluids (ATF), power steering fluids, gear oils and coolants.
