ICONIC named Chevron Oronite distributor in Brazil

ICONIC Base Oil Solutions has been appointed as the official distributor for Chevron Oronite’s lubricant and fuel additives in Brazil, expanding its long-standing relationship with Chevron and reinforcing its leadership position in the Brazilian base oil and additives market.

Effective June 2025, the agreement includes Chevron Oronite’s premium product lines: OLOA® lubricant additives, OGA® aftermarket gasoline additives, and PARATONE® viscosity modifiers. ICONIC, which has been distributing Chevron’s premium base oils since 2023, will now offer a comprehensive portfolio of lubricant-related products through a one-stop shop approach.

“This is another relevant addition to our premium portfolio, which is increasingly complete to meet the demands of the Brazilian market,” said Marcelo Guimarães, executive manager of ICONIC Base Oil Solutions. He emphasised the strategic importance of the alliance, which further deepens ICONIC’s collaboration with Chevron across South America.

Chevron Oronite’s Latin America Sales Manager, Leonardo Querente, said the partnership strengthens the company’s market position in Brazil. He cited ICONIC’s distribution expertise and customer service capabilities as key to fulfilling growing demand in the region.

“ICONIC has a proven track record of excellence in distribution, and we are confident that together we can meet the growing demands of the lubricants and fuel additives market. This change represents a significant step in our journey to provide innovative and high-performance products to our customers in Latin America,” Querente said.

ICONIC is a joint venture between Chevron and Ipiranga and operates independently from its lubricants business through a dedicated base oil unit. With two manufacturing plants and a terminal at the Port of Rio de Janeiro, the company ensures streamlined logistics and shorter lead times for customers across Brazil.

This new phase in ICONIC and Chevron Oronite’s partnership is expected to provide enhanced service and distribution capabilities for lubricant and fuel additive customers, reinforcing their commitment to innovation and performance in the region.
