Idemitsu Kosan’s China unit raises lubricant blending capacity

Japan’s Idemitsu Kosan said its Chinese subsidiary, Tianjin Idemitsu Lubricants Co., has more than doubled its lubricant blending plant capacity in Tianjin, China. The amount of this latest investment was not disclosed.

Idemitsu Kosan said it has increased the plant’s capacity from 56,000 to 120,000 metric tonnes, which makes it the company’s largest lube blending plant outside Japan.

In 2011, the company raised the plant’s capacity from 28,000 to 56,000 metric tonnes, investing about JPY 7 billion (USD 58 million) at that time.

The lubricant blending plant produces both automotive and industrial lubricants.
