Indian Oil launches Servo Whitepol in Kolkata

Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. launched one of its most ambitious products, Servo Whitepol, which is commonly known as Light Liquid Paraffin (LLP), in an impressive ceremony to mark the occasion.

The product was unveiled by K.L. Murthy, executive director (Lubricants) of IndianOil based in Mumbai, and R.K.Mohapatra, executive director of the West Bengal State Office (WBSO) of IndianOil based in Kolkata.

Servo Whitepol is technical grade white oil made from highly refined paraffinic base stocks and further purified through a rigorous process. The Indian market for LLP is estimated to be approximately 2 Lakh tonnes per annum.

During the ceremony, Murthy enumerated the importance of this product and talked about the trust that the Servo brand stands for across India. Servo is the largest lubricant brand in India, enjoying the coveted Super Brand status for more than 15 years. IndianOil is doubling its production capacity of lubricants in next two years, Murthy added.

Mohapatra invited all industry stake holders to source LLP from Indian Oil.  Amitabh Akhauri, chief general manager (Lubricant Sales) of IndianOil, also emphasised the importance of the “Make in India campaign” and proclaimed that Servo Whitepol is the first 100 % Indian LLP, as it is made from indigenously produced base oil from IndianOil’s flagship Haldia refinery.

Servo Whitepol is the result of close cooperation between IndianOil’s marketing and R&D teams. Rajesh Nambiar, general manager (Institutional Lube Sales) of the WBSO, thanked all the stakeholders and industry patrons in keeping faith in IndianOil and the Servo brand as their first preferred choice of lubricants for the past five decades.
