Infineum CEO Trevor Russell to retire in June

Infineum announced that Trevor Russell will retire as chief executive officer (CEO) effective June 30, 2023. Succeeding Russell is Infineum’s Executive Vice President Commercial, Aldo Govi.

“After 43 years in this industry and seven years as CEO of Infineum, I have decided it is time to retire and pass the leadership of this great company on to Aldo Govi, currently EVP Commercial.  Having worked with Aldo for many years, I know that he has a deep understanding of our customers, our company, and our market.  His drive and determination to continue to deliver on our strategy to transform and grow will ensure the ongoing success of Infineum, and I know he will make an outstanding CEO,” said Russell.

Prior to his appointment at his current position in January 2022, Govi was executive vice president, Business Growth and Technology, at Infineum USA L.P., from January 2020 to December 2021, based in Linden, New Jersey, U.S.A. Prior to that, he was executive vice president, Sales, from July 2016 to January 2020.

Govi began his career at Exxon Chemical Mediterranea in July 1996 as process engineer. He moved to Infineum, the additive joint venture between ExxonMobil and Shell, in January 2000 as management systems coordinator.

He has a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universita degli Studi di Genova and successfully completed the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme from the Said Business School, University of Oxford in 2017, and Business Strategy for HR Leaders from INSEAD in 2008.

“I can only thank Trevor for being so instrumental in creating such a successful company with great people, world-class fundamentals and a clear purpose and vision.  I am excited to be taking over the leadership of Infineum and all its talented employees at this point in the Infineum journey, as we transform into a sustainable world-class specialty chemicals company,” said Govi.
