India’s Apar Industries Ltd. has entered into a joint venture agreement with PPS Motors, an authorized Volkswagen dealership in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, to form a new company called Ampoil Apar Lubricants (AALPL).

Ampoil Apar Lubricants will market lubricants in India under the AMPOIL brand, which is a brand owned by PPS Business Solutions.

The focus of the lubricant joint venture will be to sell lubricants to state governments, the central government, public sector or semi-government entities, defense and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Apar Industries Ltd., which is headquartered in Mumbai, will own a 40% share in the joint venture. APAR’s Specialty Oils business has a production capacity of 450,000 tons per annum, between its two manufacturing facilities located at Rabale, Navi Mumbai and Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

In 2007-2008, Apar Industries entered into a license agreement with Italy’s ENI to manufacture and market high-end automotive and specialty industrial lubricants.
