Intertek opens new fuels testing facility in Gladstone, Australia

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety services to a wide range of industries around the world, announced the opening of a new fuels testing laboratory in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia.

The new lab has the capability to service all major LNG producers in the region including Australia Pacific LNG, Queensland Curtis LNG and Santos LNG, while also providing a fast and effective local fuel and gas testing service to downstream petroleum clients.

The opening of the new facility marks growth in Intertek’s local and global capabilities and is demonstrative of the significance of Queensland’s role as a major LNG producer in the global market.

The coastal town of Gladstone is now an industrial powerhouse for three world-scale LNG plants on Curtis Island. Within a few years Australia is set to become the largest producer of LNG globally.

“With the start up of this new AUD 70 billion [USD 51 billion] export industry in Queensland, our new laboratory will service all major LNG producers in the region, as well as downstream petroleum clients providing a local fuels and gas testing service to ensure quality and component analysis, with rapid turnaround times.
