Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) launches PAO-based synthetic lubricants

Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (KMSB) has launched two new premium lubricants – KGO Torq R7 and KGO Torq R9 – formulated with 100% poly alpha olefins (PAO).

KGO Torq R7 is a fully synthetic 4T motorcycle oil with a viscosity grade of SAE 10W-40, while KGO Torq R9 is a fully synthetic 4T motorcycle oil with a viscosity grade of SAE 10W-50. Both meet the requirements of API SN.

โ€œThe introduction of KGO Torq R7 and R9 with 100% PAO base oil products are intended to target customers with higher performance machines and clocking high travelling mileage for each riding destination,โ€ said KMSB General Manager and Director Datuk Jeffrey Lim.

These lubricants, which were formulated by Japanese lubricant manufacturer Idemitsu Kosan was specially formulated for higher displacement engines. PAOs can withstand higher temperatures compared to Group III base oils.

The recommended retail price for one litre of KGO Torq R7 is MYR76 (USD18.4) and for KGO Torq R9 is MYR78 (USD18.9).
