Amyris announces realignment of senior leadership

Amyris, Inc., a leading renewable chemicals and fuels company, announced that it had realigned its senior leadership team as a means of supporting the company’s growth strategy. “We are realigning our management team as we pursue our current production ramp up. We are committed to achieving profitable, predictable operations,” said John Melo, president and CEO of Amyris, which is based in Emeryville, Calif., U.S.A. As a result of the realignment, three members of the management team will leave the company. These are Mario Portela, president of Global Operations; Tamara Tompkins, executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary; and, Neil Renninger, chief technical officer. Renninger will, however, remain a member of Amyris’ Board of Directors. Several key personnel will assume new positions. These include Peter Boynton, who will lead business development activities; Paulo Diniz, who will continue to lead Amyris Brasil while expanding his responsibilities in strategic partnerships; Gary Loeb, who will serve as Amyris general counsel and corporate secretary; Steve Mills, who will be chief financial officer; Mark Patel, who was promoted to senior vice president of Commercial Operations, and will also be responsible for leading products strategy and sales growth; Ramesh Ramanm, who was promoted to senior vice president of Global Manufacturing, and is responsible for manufacturing and supply chain; and, Christine Ring, who will lead legal technology strategy and intellectual property.
