Byco Petroleum to re-brand, expand retail business

Byco Petroleum Pakistan plans to re-brand its retail business and aims to become one of the country’s largest integrated oil companies, having its own refinery and a petrochemical complex, a top company official said. The new identity of Byco will reflect the company’s transition from a small oil marketing company to a petroleum group with diversified operations, said Kaleem Siddiqui, president of its petroleum marketing unit. The formal re-launch of Byco, formerly Bosicor, will be on June 19, and includes a new logo and revamped fuel stations in the first phase. Byco will increase the number of its fuel stations to 129 from the existing 107 by the end of June, ahead of the start of production from its 120,000 barrel per day crude oil refinery, he said. Around 79 more fuel stations will be added to the network in Fiscal 2010-2011 as the company prepares to integrate its midstream and downstream operations, Siddiqui said. (June 17, 2010)
