Capacity expansion at Dung Quat gets green light
Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has approved a proposal by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group to raise the capacity of the Dung Quat Oil refinery. The refinery’s designed annual capacity of 6.5 million tons will be raised to 10 million tons, said Dang Hong Son, office manager of the Binh Son Oil Refinery Co., which manages the Dung Quat refinery. With the current capacity, the US$3 billion refinery can meet up to 30% of the country’s needs. (August 6, 2010)
