Changan Ford suspends SUV production

Changan Ford Automobile Corporation Ltd. will cease manufacturing Ford SUVs and estimates that the output and sales volume of its products that are now on sale will remain the same in 2009 as in 2008, said Zou Wenchao, executive vice president of Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. Zou also said that Changan Ford will rely on the new Ford Fiesta to achieve production and sales targets. After the new Ford Fiesta is launched, the company will have a complete line-up of sedans, and will consider the introduction of niche models to meet the diversified demand. (December 2, 2008)
