Doosan to manufacture oil monitoring system for marine engine
South Korea’s Doosan Engine said that it began to manufacture two models of the measuring system to monitor bearing wear and lubricant life. In Korea, the market for measuring devices for bearing and lubricant generates 100 billion won (US$82.88 million) in annual revenues. The lubricant measuring devices, O-WACS, consist of small sensors attached on pipes to measure the degree of moisture and the temperature of the lubricant on a real-time basis. “By manufacturing two models of the measuring devices for marine engines, we could replace a 16 billion won (US$13.26 million) import,” said Managing Director Kim Yung-hyo.
