Drive collects fuel samples from vehicle users

India’s Food and Civil Supplies Department implemented a drive at selective points and collected fuel samples from 143 vehicles. The move comes following complaints by people about high vehicular pollution owing to use of kerosene in vehicles, which is prohibited. Foodgrains Distribution Officer Ramesh Ade said if the samples were found to be containing kerosene, an FIR (first information report) would be filed against the respective drivers. The drive was implemented at five points in the city. (August 18, 2010)
