E-Cane to invest in Philippines
U.S.-based E-Cane Fuel Corporation plans to invest US$150 million in a vertically integrated ethanol project in the Philippines, joining a growing list of companies looking to participate in the Southeast Asian nation’s biofuels sector. E-Cane, which set up shop in the Philippines six months ago, plans to build a 150-million-liter per year ethanol plant. The plant is expected to start operations in 2009. (May 29, 2007)
