ExxonMobil Chemical announced the appointment of Chris Birdsall as vice president of its global synthetic fluids business, effective January 1, 2012. He replaces Habib Quazi, who will become marketing manager for ExxonMobil Chemical’s global aromatics business. Birdsall joined ExxonMobil in 1996 and has held technical and management positions in the company’s polymers, basic chemicals and synthetics businesses. Most recently, he served as global supply and planning manager for the synthetics business. ExxonMobil Chemical is the world’s largest polyalphaolefins (PAOs) producer and offers the broadest range of advanced synthetic base stock fluids, including SpectraSyn™ PAO, Synesstic™ alkylated naphthalene and Esterex™ ester fluids.
