Jetti to open General Santos gas stations
Independent oil player Jetti Petroleum Inc. said it is planning to put up service stations in General Santos City in the southern island group of Mindanao. The company’s top company executives met with local government officials earlier in the year to check on the viability of putting up gas stations. Aside from opening gasoline stations in the city and elsewhere in the region, Jetti executives also revealed a plan to set up their own depot along the coast of General Santos. However, the company would have to build stations first before constructing an oil depot, which would require heavy investments. There are more than 20 Jetti stations in Mindanao, located in the cities of Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Iligan and Gingoog. (April 7, 2009)
