JX Nippon Oil and Energy Corporation to expand to Middle East and Africa

Japan’s energy giant JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (NOE) reaffirmed its commitment to expand operations in the Middle East and Africa. The company belongs to the JX Group, which is one of the world’s largest integrated energy, resources and materials company. It manages several oil and gas operations in 70 countries. Michio Ikeda, senior vice-president of JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation explained that the expansion is in line with the group’s intent to venture into promising international markets, including the Middle East and Africa. The group is now involved in oil and gas exploration and production in Abu Dhabi and Qatar. (March 13, 2012)
