LUKOIL and Uzavtosanoat sign MOU

Vice-President of Russia’s LUKOIL Vadim Vorobyev and Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s OJSC Uzavtosanoat Tokhirjon Zhalilov recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which the two companies intend to cooperate in the production and sales of motor oils and fluids.
According to the agreement, LUKOIL will sell UzautoOil motor oil not only in Uzbekistan, but also in other Central Asian countries, production of which started at the LUKOIL-Perm Refinery in June 2013.
At the same time LUKOIL will advise UzAvtoSanoat on the construction of a lubricant blending and packaging plant in Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan is one of the most attractive lubricants market, as it has the third largest population among the CIS countries.
The company’s motor oil for the first time in the history of Russian lubricant manufacturers was selected for factory fill by the Uzbek SamAuto company, which assembles Isuzu buses, in 2012. A contract to supply LUKOIL GENESIS FE oil to Uzbek-American engine plant GM Powertrain Uzbekistan in Tashkent was also signed last year.
