MRPL in pact with Shell India

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd., a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corp., has signed an agreement with Shell India for the supply of petrol and diesel fuel for four years. The agreement can be extended by another two years, an MRPL press release said. MRPL started offering petroleum products to Shell in 2004 and since then, their off take has been steadily rising. Shell India is presently taking almost all of its fuel requirements from MRPL since 2004 under a product supply pact valid till October 2007. “The new agreement which will become operational from October 2007 covers not only fuel supply but also infrastructure sharing and hospitality and collaboration on health, security, safety and environmental management procedures and practices,” the release said. The agreement was signed by MRPL Managing Director R. Rajamani and Shell India Marketing Pvt Ltd. Managing Director Surinderdeep Singh. MRPL Chairman R.S. Sharma said besides the commercial aspects of the agreement, MRPL will stand to gain from the rich experience of Shell in product handling and distribution. (September 5, 2007)
