Nansei Sekiyu refinery to become Asian hub for Petrobras

Brazil’s federal energy company Petrobras is planning to turn its Nansei Sekiyu refinery in Okinawa, Japan, into its main distribution point in Asia, the company said in a statement. Petrobras has an 87.5% stake in the refinery, which has the capacity to process 100,000 barrels per day. José Sergio Gabrielli, Petrobras’ chief executive officer, said the Nansei Sekiyu refinery should start to receive Brazilian oil next year. (October 29, 2009)
