Peugeot, Mitsubishi tie up for electric cars

Frances Peugeot and Japans Mitsubishi have announced that they will work together in the electric car sector, in a tie-up that will be “beneficial for each party.” The two companies will begin with several months of studies into the scope of the cooperation in the field of small urban electric vehicles. The companies said the cooperation would help increase the viability of electric car projects and accelerate their introduction to the market. Peugeot and Mitsubishi, which have just begun construction of a joint factory in Russia, will also study the creation of shared production sites for components for electric vehicles. (June 17, 2008)
