PTT to focus on premium stations

PTT Plc plans to spend up to 550 million baht (US$15 million) to build 15 new petrol stations, while closing more than 50 unprofitable ones. PTT executive Chaiwat Choorit said the company would place more emphasis than before on premium petrol stations. To this end, it will build five at a cost of 60 million baht (US$1.7 million) each. The company will also build 10 new standard petrol stations at a cost of 20-25 million baht (US$567,697-709,622) each. PTT closed 60 unprofitable stations in 2006, out of a total of 1,217.
