Sinopec Lubricant starts capacity expansion in Chongqing

Sinopec Lubricant Co., a subsidiary of China’s largest oil refiner Sinopec, has started a capacity expansion project in Chongqing.
The project, which is estimated to cost RMB700 million (US$110.9 million) will cover an area of approximately 233, 000 square meters. The plant will produce primarily top-tier mineral-based and synthetic lubricants.
The project will have an initial production capacity of 215,000 metric tons per year, after completion of the first phase. This will be further expanded to 300,000 metric tons in the second phase.
