Thai Rayong Purifier proposes to build oil refinery in Vietnam

Thai Rayong Purifier Public Group is seeking approval from Vietnam’s central province of Binh Dinh to build a US$600 million oil refinery at the Nhon Hoi non-tariff Economic Zone. The 150 hectare plant will have an annual refining capacity of three million tons in the first phase, and between six and eight million tons in the second phase, said Man Ngoc Ly, head of the zone’s management board. Rayong expects to kick-start the project in the first quarter of 2011. Construction will be completed within two years.  (January 7, 2011)
