Vietnam seeks investors for Long Son Refinery

Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry is looking for investors to build the Long Son Refinery, to be located in Vung Tau, 125 km east of Ho Chi Minh City. Estimated to cost US$3 billion, the refinery will have an annual capacity of 9 million tons. Vietnam’s first refinery in Dung Quat has an annual design capacity of 6.5 million tons and is expected to be completed in 2009 at an estimated cost of US$2.5 billion. PetroVietnam is also looking for joint venture for the Nghi Son refinery in northern Vietnam, which will cost an estimated US$3 billion. (August 16, 2006)
